It is true in some cases that we have to wait for an election to be heard, just look at what is going on with the HST.

I will be starting a blog soon on the local elections and what people are looking for.Donna Pitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01938591277088755092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6169541274837140117.post-13318932516832429122009-11-25T05:31:53.039-08:002009-11-25T05:31:53.039-08:00I have been battling with haldimand County bylaws ...I have been battling with haldimand County bylaws for pastyear now, and getting no truthfull responces.I live along Broad St.W. in Dunnville and have noticed signs along this street are as posted, parking for 2 hours only from 8 am till 2 am.Seeing this for past 6 years i have never seen these sign enforced at all.I have complained many tiomes to by law office,Councillor Boyko,Mayor Trainer and even the O.P.P, where i just get the runna round to contact this person and that person, and end up going around in circles, where no one has an answer.Being frustrated on this matter, i put a note on a car in front of my house that continues to park there all hours of the day,stating the bylaw, only to be visited by the O.P.P that i could be charged with harrasment.So, my question is why am i threatened to be charged when i have made several legal attempts to have these by-laws enforced, notified all parties to have this matter enforced and get no satisfaction.This past weekend,November 21/09, i noticed a by-law officer handing out a ticket downtoen Dunnville, and asked why she was doing this, when i have been complaining for past year now to have signs along Broad St enforced, and got a reply that she was just hired and instructed by the mayor to do so.Well, i see the point now, ticket the people downtown Dunnville where people are punished to spend some much needed money to the merchants who need the business, specially after losing alot of business during the loss they got after having pretty much downtown shut down all summer because of construction, but do not worry about other signs in Dunnville or complaints made.So saying this, why are we, as taxpayers paying for vehicles,insurance and by-law officers when only certain laws are enforced, specially in an area where much needed business is needed,downtown,and people come to support the stores of Dunnville.I am very frustrated with whats going on here, and very upset that this is backfiring by being threaten to be arrested.All i know is i have to wait til the next election to be heard, and getting very frustrated waiting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6169541274837140117.post-45106395678688610662008-02-14T07:48:00.000-08:002008-02-14T07:48:00.000-08:00lolDonna, are you honestly trying to suggest that ...lol

Donna, are you honestly trying to suggest that there are no racists in Caledonia who are front andcentre bashing all things native at every chance they get?

Why is it that there is a group of people in Caledonia that do nothing in their waking hours but find fault with natives? There are a lot of problems in all societies that deserve equal attention. But seem to be conveniently ignored by this group.

It's becoming an obsession and habit that this group can't seem to get out of.

And as far as staying anonymous, it's an option on your blog and is suggested by most internet experts in the world. How come you only callout the anonymous posters who disagree with you. But you never worry about the ones who agree.

It's an internet "right" to stay anonymous. Do you not like people to excercise their rights?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6169541274837140117.post-71819708651200177322008-02-14T05:47:00.000-08:002008-02-14T05:47:00.000-08:00Thanks for your comments. The last poster seems to...Thanks for your comments. The last poster seems to think that I am attacking the people that comment here if I do not agree with their opinion. That is not true, what I do is respond back to the comments to mainly clarify an issue. As far as this reamark that I made;

"This poster is exactly what I am talking about. You can post anonymous and still sign your name at the bottom. But with remarks like this one, that would take a "big person".

I was commenting on this statement by a poster;

"What exactly has he ever done anyhow besides beak off once in a while to keep the racists off his ass".

This poster could have stopped at "beak off", but chose to carry on about "keeping the "racists" off his ass. I would defend "anyone" in this manner, as I would "never" call anyone a "racists".

As far as this statement goes;

"What ever happened to the free speech you all seem to scream about? A little hypocritcal don't you think?"

This is what you are doing isn't it? Have I removed any posts here, no. So you indeed are speaking freely!

"Public officials are open to scrutiny (or so you preach). And it goes both ways and that includes the anti-native public officials too!"

You are bang on the money on this comment!

The issue that I have sometimes on the strong comments that a poster has is that I am in the open, I am respectful, and I have nothing to hide. When you speak out publicly there is also room for attack, but when one makes a strong statement and "hides" behind "anonymous" there is "no credibility", and that of course is my opinion.

To the poster of this comment;

"Did the poster mention anything about the DCE? Toby was part of the convoy to bring tobacco to the natives on the reserve. And he supported it. Did he make sure the proper paperwork and accounting for the tobacco was submitted?"

Watch the video.

So thanks again everyone for the comments, as I was speaking with someone yesterday I said that the most important aspect about this blog are the "comments" that people make.Donna Pitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01938591277088755092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6169541274837140117.post-33674535313521514582008-02-14T05:27:00.000-08:002008-02-14T05:27:00.000-08:00Donna;Why is it that when anyone offers an opinion...Donna;

Why is it that when anyone offers an opinion of a topic that you put out there invitin comment, you attack the person in a personal way if their opinion doesn't match up with yours.

This seems to be a common theme amongst the group of people who support Barrett, Trainer, McHale etc.

What ever happened to the free speech you all seem to scream about? A little hypocritcal don't you think?

Public officials are open to scrutiny (or so you preach). Did he make sure the proper paperwork and accounting for the tobacco was submitted?

The poster brings up a good point in that it appears Toby Barrett is a creature of opportunity. He seems to not accomplish very much in Haldimand and has now been removed from the agriculture critic job. Hardly a man who has done anything tangible for Haldimand except to stir up hatred on behalf of a few agitators.

If he would stop flapping his gums and actually work with the Liberals on some constructive projects for Haldimand, then he might be worthy of respect. Right now, he has none except from the racists when he flip-flops and bashes natives.

He's a joke and a disgrace.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6169541274837140117.post-34499650574692632372008-02-13T18:59:00.000-08:002008-02-13T18:59:00.000-08:00Isn't is amazing sometimes what people will say wh...Isn't is amazing sometimes what people will say when they don't have to put their name to it.

This poster is exactly what I am talking about. You can post anonymous and still sign your name at the bottom. But with remarks like this one, that would take a "big person".

I can tell you for a fact that this poster was "not" at the meeting Monday night and did "not" see the video. You may ask how do I know that to be a fact! Well the following statement that this poster made tells it all;

"He probably lost his job because he broke the law when he helped smuggle tobacco to natives in the convoy. TWO -TIER TOBY lmao!"

Toby was asked this question by a council member Monday night, his response if you didn't see the video was;

Yes I was at the farmers meeting, as I go to all meetings regarding farmers. I voted "against" the so called tobacco train, as one of the councillors called it. But Toby likes to stay close to a situation. Toby was told that this tobacco would "not" go to DCE. When he found out as he was driving that in fact the convoy seemed to be heading that way, Toby called the OPP. They in return blocked "all" roads leading that way, so they landed up at the longhouse.

So for this poster, the only reason that they posted a comment is simple.....they just don't support Toby Barrett!Donna Pitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01938591277088755092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6169541274837140117.post-13741056349493184822008-02-13T16:53:00.000-08:002008-02-13T16:53:00.000-08:00What a joke he is.Toby is the most ineffective MPP...What a joke he is.

Toby is the most ineffective MPP in the whole Conservative party.....he couldn't even hold onto his position as agriculture critic. What exactly has he ever done anyhow besides beak off once in a while to keep the racists off his ass.

He's an opposition politician. How hard is that?

Let me know when he actually does something.

He probably lost his job because he broke the law when he helped smuggle tobacco to natives in the convoy.
