Haldimand "Take the Fight to Where it Belongs"

Well Friday June the 29th is just a few days away, and there are "rumors" and "threats" that "all bridges" that cross the "Grand River in Haldimand County" will be blockaded.

This action in Haldimand is aimed at making "Canadians" aware of the plight of aboriginal peoples.

Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t know many people that have the "financial resources" to miss a day’s pay if they can’t cross the River! I don’t mean to "trivialize" aboriginal issues by attaching a dollar figure, but to most people they "need ever dollar" they can get!

My husband and I are average Canadians, trying to do the best we can with what we have. At the end of the day when that magical "paycheck" comes in we loose a big chunk of our hard earned money, as we are obligated to pay "Ontario Tax", "Federal Tax", "EI", "WSIB" etc. etc.

Then once a year we are "honored" to pay yet "more taxes", as we do our yearly "income taxes to Revenue Canada", which includes "Ontario Tax" if we haven’t paid enough, "Federal Tax" if we haven’t paid enough, etc. etc. etc. Oh I almost forgot the "$875.00" a year that my husband now pays for "Health Tax" thanks to the Liberals.

Now saying all that, then we get to pay "more taxes", "tax at the pumps", "tax on clothes", "tax on services", "taxes on our property", tax on tax that we already seemed to have paid taxes on. I may have forgotten a "tax" or two, but I am sure you get my point!

So correct me if I am wrong here, but what would justify "any" individual or group of "individuals" to take there fight with the Government out on the "average" Canadian?

As I live just outside Dunnville, I can tell you that I believe that the "average" Canadian will not take kindly if they can’t get to work on Friday. "Most don’t have the luxury"!

"Take the fight to where it belongs, with the Government, not the average Canadian that can’t change a damn thing on the "best" of days".

  1. I agree completely with your message Donna, but we may soon need to address a new one.

If Harper doesn't start acting like a leader and step in with the Military if necessary to stop this Terrorism, it is the average Canadian who will be left with no choice but to take this fight into their own hands.

People like you and I know the alternative ways to fight this via peaceful protest and political attack on the leaders who fail us, but there are many who do not and will not tolerate this nonsense much longer.

McGuinty is a write off, and Fantino has never been anything but a sock puppet for McGuinty, so the time has come for Stephen Harper to take his place as leader of our Country and put an end to this nightmare before the damage can no longer be repaired.

Playtime is over for our "leaders".

I am trying to follow the logic of this ...

Canadian governments oppress us with taxes, so whoever has a bigger beef with the government - say genocide for land - shouldn't bother us innocent, oppressed people. We know our governments are dangerously oppressive, but we can't fight them so we will fight whoever is annoying us with THEIR complaints. It's every man for himself in this dog eat dog world.

I think it is a very small violin that I hear playing.

How bout we all point the fingers where they belong?

How bout we all demand a nation-wide paid holiday for that day?

In fact ... how bout we just declare a Peoples holiday for Friday, and we ALL go blockade something to make the government aware that we are ALL oppressed and mad as hell!

  3. "g", I am sure that many would agree that a paid holiday from the government on Friday June 29th would be sweet, but we all know that is just a pipe dream!

I would like to make a few comments on your words.

"It's every man for himself in this dog eat dog world".

Powerful Words "g", but I would hope and pray that the average person does "NOT FEEL" this way!

I think you have "HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD" with those words!

Maybe that is one of the "MAJOR PROBLEMS",is that too many people have that attitude "g", "we should just look after ourselves and screw the rest of "YOU"?

But I see serious flaws living in a "dog eat dog world".

Where would humanity be then, if we just turned a blind eye to "family", "friends", "neighbours".

I have stated many times that the Government has failed us, but I am not taking out my "anger" on my fellow man.

"I think it is a very small violin that I hear playing".

This comment is "your" personal opinion "g", and often I have stated that we all have the right to our opinions. You are obviously fortunate that money is not an issue in your life.

So I will say this again "Take the fight to where it belongs, with the Government, not the average Canadian that can’t change a damn thing on the "best" of days".

  4. G's comments are obviously from someone who is used to collecting a cheque from the government every month, plus all the other perks.

It's time these people had to earn their own living.

We're still paying for the free Hydro at DCE.

  5. As an over taxed Canadian I feel we should take part in the June 29 protests ourselves ...after paying more than our fair share its time we got to see at least our fair share back...I'll join the SN deadbeats with my had out to the gummint...except my hand doesn't shake from the hypocricy of asking for money that was not mine to begin with. ;-)

  6. I say pay off all the land claims!!
Then remove ALL the native privileges!!
Then make them pay taxes like we do!!!
Then the Government can get back 3/4% of the land
claim money: in the form of tax money!!!
    Call me crazy!!!

  7. Well said Donna.

It is true that we are one of the most heavily taxed societies in the world. What do we get for those taxes?

We get to pay more taxes as we go about our daily lives.

We get to send much of our money to Third World countries that would in return destroy our society if they could.

We support programs for the lazy of society that would sooner collect government payouts and plot ways to destroy the very gravy train that feeds clothes and houses them.

And yes we have the privilege of supporting those that simply were here first and those are simply here last. Yes our aboriginals that have decided not to become a part of the society on which they depend so heavily on for funding so that they can maintain a 200 year old way of life that is about as relevant to today’s world as the dinosaur. Let me not forget that we also have the privilege of supporting all the new found Canadians coming from those other Third World countries as well who also would prefer to maintain lives that better represent attitudes and ways more appropriate to the days of Christ.

Sorry for the rant but I’m sick and tired of supporting those who would use the support we give them to try and undermine and destroy our very way of life.

June 29 should be a day when we all pull together for the better of Canada so we can celebrate on Canada Day as one. Instead we will have blockades and disruptions of the lives of those who pay for these social morons to express dissatisfaction with the very way of life they have chosen.

Funny ... it seems clear to me from what you wrote that you are taking your anger at the government out on Six Nations, when it should really be directed at your government.

"Take the fight to where it belongs, with the Government, not the average Canadian that can’t change a damn thing on the "best" of days".

They have been taking their fight to the government for hundreds of years, and the government ignores them. Too late for that.

Re Dunnville: It is quite a joke around sn that somebody in Dunville (Dennis?) started this silly rumour, and now everybody is all upset about it and you are out there standing on the bridge ... hilarious! If they do show up it will be to take pictures, just for a laugh, I expect.

  10. Parkinson, you are looney toons!

There will be no military intervention! Since they are asserting rights in accord with the Constitution, Canada would be in violation of its own Constitution by sending troops. The UN would be here in a flash!

There is no quick solution. Patience is required. Foolish demands for violence only betray your own obsessions with same.

  11. How is any one with in their rights by commit terrorist acts: stopping train’s, blocking bridges and who knows what else???

I agree NO army but give the bill to the Natives after wards!!! Make them all pay!!

This is how you stop future BULL!! They will get after each other: since money is all they under stand!!

Also Jeff is not a violent person: but like he said others are fed up and also know this will never end in Caledonia!!

The Natives don’t care we know all there dirty laundry meaning their finances that is and they also lost there peaceful pride they had!! If the Natives were civiled they would share this great land with us instead of ME, ME, ME

Now if enough people on our side show up; what will the OPP do!!! The OPP have ticked off to many police forces: Hamilton, Toronto, and so on!!!

One needs to get off their couch to know what going on: I did!!
